Jack Hobbs x Lady Shirocco

2 years old

The sire Jack Hobbs requires no introduction. Now twelve-years-old, the John Gosden-trained star won the Irish Derby and finished second at the Epsom equivalent in 2015.

Since, he has sired the likes of Intense Approach, who managed a second in the Grade Two Persian War Novices Hurdle, as well as a plethora of lower Grade winners.

Lady Shirocco (Shirocco x Estrana), now a nine-year-old mare, had a promising start to her racing career – winning a point-to-point in Ireland – before it was curtailed by an injury sustained on her first start at Warwick.

She is the granddaughter of Monsun – the outstanding source of top-class middle distance winners Fiorente and Protectionist.

Mattaniah has joined Sam England’s stable in West Yorkshire. For more details on her progress, see the ‘Latest’ page.
